Home Visit

A home visit with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is one of the quickest and most comfortable ways to receive optimal, evidence-based support to overcome obstacles and reach your infant feeding goals!

Each Home Visit is approximately 2 hours and includes the following:

  • Comprehensive and holistic evaluation of the nursing dyad, both parent and infant.  This involves assembling a health history and assessing ALL the issues that might be affecting breastfeeding.

  • Assessment of milk production and transfer.  This includes an assessment of parent and infant health history, observing a feed, optimizing latch and positioning, examining the infant’s oral anatomy and doing a pre- and post-feeding weight as necessary.

  • Assessment of infant growth.  Weight, head circumference, and length will be measured, placed on the infant’s growth chart and discussed.

  • Development of a thorough care plan tailored to the specific circumstances and needs of each family.

  • Medical documentation of the home visit sent directly to the appropriate care provider (pediatrician, midwife, OB/GYN, etc).

  • Follow-up care plan and unlimited calls/text/email support.

  • Superbill to receive reimbursement from your insurance company.
